HolmesAI Economy

Economy Overview

HolmesAI is building an onchain agent and knowledge economy. Our goal is to enable individuals and developers to create intelligent agents powered by structured knowledge ("Personas"), and to monetize them through open marketplaces.

Key Participants

  • Persona Curators create and monetise high-quality structured knowledge. Personas equip agents with context, domain knowledge, preferences, and behavioral constraints, defining how agents reason, respond, and act in different scenarios.

  • Agent Template Creators are expert developers who design reusable agent workflows, combining domain-specific logic and tool integrations to enable fast agent deployment.

  • Quality Verifiers are Human or AI who assess Persona quality and agent performance to maintain high standards. They help curate high-value knowledge and contribute to the reputation scoring of curators and creators.

  • Validator Nodes monitor protocol-level behavior to ensure agents and personas operate within defined rules. Validator Nodes are automated and run continuously to uphold system integrity.

  • Users build autonomous agents using Templates and Personas. Participants can range from novice users to advanced developers.

Note: HolmesAI currently coordinates compute and orchestration centrally, but will progressively open up to permissionless contributors via decentralised nodes.

Marketplace

At the heart of HolmesAI lies a two-sided marketplace where Personas and Agent Templates can be published, rented, and embedded by others. This creates a composable economy of intelligence, where contributors can monetise their assets through licensing, usage-based rewards, and social reputation.

The $HOL

$HOL is a single token model with a capped total supply and deflationary emission. It is the medium of exchange across all layers of the ecosystem and serves multiple critical functions: it powers incentives, provides access to services, and secures the network through staking and governance.

To promote adoption, users who pay for services in $HOL will enjoy discounted rates compared to alternative payment methods. Meanwhile, long-term supporters can stake $HOL to gain additional economic rights and governance power. The protocol is also exploring enhanced models, such as vote-escrow (ve) or escrowed (es), to further reward aligned, long-term participants.

Incentives and Staking

Network incentives are distributed to key contributors:

  • Validators receive $HOL for helping uphold the protocol’s security and behavioral integrity. They monitor onchain activity to detect abuse, misuse, or violations of protocol rules.

  • Quality Verifiers are rewarded for reviewing Templates, Personas and agent outputs. These are human experts who assess content quality, accuracy, and usefulness, and contribute to the reputation system through curated feedback.

  • Persona Curators earn baseline rewards tied to usage and availability, along with dynamic bonuses driven by performance metrics and community ratings.

  • Agent Template Creators are rewarded by curators and end users for the utility and quality of the templates they deploy.

Participants are also required to lock or stake $HOL to gain publishing and operational rights:

  • Validators and Quality Verifiers must lock to perform network duties.

  • Curators and Developers must stake $HOL to publish their Personas or Agent Templates on the open marketplace for leasing.

  • $HOL holders may delegate their tokens to contributors and share in the rewards and governance rights.

Governance

$HOL stakers govern the evolution of the HolmesAI protocol.

Governance will include control over key economic parameters such as

  • Token emission/burn rate

  • Target staking ratios

  • Treasury allocation

  • Token buyback settings

Over time, governance will also oversee protocol upgrades and contributor onboarding as HolmesAI moves toward full decentralisation.

Treasury and Value Accrual

HolmesAI revenues are generated from ecosystem activity, including:

  • Platform subscription fees

  • Taxes on Agent and Persona usage

Revenues are recycled back into the economy via token buybacks, protocol-owned liquidity provisioning and revenue sharing. This design ensures that the value created through network usage directly benefits $HOL holders and long-term participants.
