# HolmesAI Economy

### **Economy Overview**

HolmesAI is building an on-chain agent and knowledge economy. Our goal is to enable individuals and developers to create intelligent agents powered by structured knowledge ("Personas"), and to monetize them through open marketplaces.

#### **Key Participants**

* **Persona Curators**
  * Persona Curators create and monetize high-quality structured knowledge. Personas equip agents with context, domain knowledge, preferences, and behavioral constraints, defining how agents reason, respond, and act in different scenarios.
* **Agent Template Creators**
  * Agent Template Creators are expert developers who design reusable agent workflows, combining domain-specific logic and tool integrations to enable fast agent deployment.
* **Quality Verifiers**
  * Quality Verifiers are Human or AI who assess Persona quality and agent performance to maintain high standards. They help curate high-value knowledge and contribute to the reputation scoring of curators and creators.
* **Validator Nodes**
  * Validator Nodes monitor protocol-level behavior to ensure agents and personas operate within defined rules. Validator Nodes are automated and run continuously to uphold system integrity.
* **Users**
  * Users build autonomous agents using Templates and Personas. Participants can range from novice users to advanced developers.

### Detailed Design

#### 1. Persona Curator

**1.1 Role Definition**

A **Persona Curator** is an entity or individual that creates, maintains, and monetizes Personas (knowledge bases) within the HolmesAI ecosystem. Curators contribute personal knowledge and enable downstream Agent applications through standardized Persona interfaces.

**1.2 Workflow**

1. The Persona Curator subscribes to HolmesAI platform services.
2. The Curator creates a Persona (knowledge base) on the HolmesAI platform.
3. The Curator may choose one of the following deployment paths:
   1. **Option A: Private Deployment** The Curator creates a Persona via HolmesAI and directly binds the Persona to their own Agent.
   2. **Option B: Marketplace Deployment** The Curator publishes the Persona to the HolmesAI public marketplace under the following conditions:
      * The Curator locks a specified amount of $HOL as collateral. The required collateral is calculated independently for each Persona based on protocol-defined parameters.
      * Upon confirmation of the $HOL lock, the Persona becomes eligible for marketplace listing.
      * The Curator sets subscription pricing for the Persona (e.g., price per API call or usage unit).
      * When matching occurs, users subscribe to the Persona at the defined rate.
      * Subscription revenue generated by the Persona is subject to protocol-level revenue sharing, including allocations to associated Agent Templates and the HolmesAI ecosystem.
      * The remaining cash revenue is distributed to the Persona Curator.
      * In addition to cash revenue, the Curator may receive $HOL emission rewards as protocol subsidies.

**1.3 $HOL Emission and Allocation Mechanism**

The total $HOL rewards allocated to Persona providers are distributed through two complementary mechanisms: Base Rewards and Performance Rewards.

**1.3.1 Base Rewards**

**Design Objective**

Base Rewards are designed to maintain a minimum viable supply of active Personas within the ecosystem. These rewards prioritize ecosystem coverage and participation rather than Persona quality.

**Key Parameters**

* **Network-wide Active Personas**: As the total number of registered and active Personas increases, the amount of freely available Base Rewards decreases.
* **Time**: Base Rewards gradually decay as the protocol matures.
* **$HOL Market Price**:
  * When the $HOL price increases, emission levels are reduced to mitigate excessive token inflation.
  * When the $HOL price decreases, Base Rewards may be restored to a predefined baseline.
* **$HOL Staking Amount**
* **Task Completion Volume**

**1.3.2 Performance Rewards**

**Design Objective**

Performance Rewards are intended to incentivize Curators who provide high-quality, high-impact Personas that generate real user demand and economic value.

**Key Parameters**

* **Network-wide Active Personas**
* **Time**: Performance Rewards are initially subsidized by $HOL emissions and gradually transition to being funded by HolmesAI’s actual protocol revenue.
* **$HOL Staking Amount**: Each Persona requires independent staking. $HOL holders may delegate stake to Personas and share the emission rewards.
* **Revenue Performance**: Revenue generated from Persona usage, calculated using a time-weighted methodology to ensure neutrality between:
  * low-price / high-frequency usage, and
  * high-price / low-frequency usage.
* **Q.V. Score (Quality Value Score)**: Each Persona is evaluated through multiple Q.V. assessments. The final Q.V. Score is a composite metric reflecting Persona quality, reliability, and user satisfaction.

#### 2. Agent Template Creator

**2.1 Role Definition**

An Agent Template Creator is a development team that builds reusable Agent Templates, which serve as standardized execution frameworks for deploying Personas within the HolmesAI ecosystem.

**2.2 Template Lifecycle**

* HolmesAI periodically releases a limited number of Agent Template slots.
* The Template Creator develops an Agent Template and locks $HOL to activate it.
* When Personas deployed through the Template generate subscription revenue, a predefined portion of the revenue is distributed to the Template Creator.

### Validator Node

* Users stake $HOL to operate validator nodes and participate in maintaining the HolmesAI network.
* The primary responsibility of validator nodes is to verify and validate the behavior of all ecosystem participants, including Persona Curators, Template Creators, and other protocol actors.
* Validator nodes receive $HOL emission incentives proportional to the volume and accuracy of validation tasks they complete.
* Validator nodes are eligible to receive a portion of the slashed $HOL collateral from malicious or non-compliant participants.
* $HOL stakers may delegate their sHOL to validator nodes as additional collateral, and in return share in the $HOL rewards earned by the node.

### Staking

#### Design Overview

The conversion from $HOL to sHOL is designed to incentivize long-term participation while maintaining a simple and user-friendly staking experience.The amount of sHOL minted is proportional to:

* the amount of $HOL staked, and
* the duration for which the $HOL is locked.

After receiving sHOL, users may allocate it across different collateral pools and engage in various economic activities to earn protocol rewards. Upon lock expiration, sHOL is automatically released from collateral pools, and users may redeem their originally staked $HOL principal.

#### Lock Expiration and Redemption

* Upon lock expiration, if the user does not actively exit:
  * The allocated sHOL remains valid as collateral within its assigned pools.
* To redeem the underlying $HOL:
  * The user must burn the matured sHOL.
  * The protocol returns 100% of the originally locked $HOL principal, based on the lock amount at the time of staking.
* During the lock period, users cannot unlock or redeem $HOL early by default.

#### sHOL Minting Formula

The amount of sHOL minted for user *i* is calculated as follows:sHOL\_mint\[i] = HOL\_lock\_amount\[i] \* (1 + conversion\_ratio \* (t\_lock\[i] - t\_lock\_min) / t\_lock\_max)

#### Parameter Definitions

* `t_lock[i]`: Lock duration chosen by user *i*, measured in days.
* `t_lock_min`: Minimum lock duration for $HOL staking. DAO-adjustable parameter
* `t_lock_max`: Maximum lock duration for $HOL staking. DAO-adjustable parameter
* `HOL_lock_amount[i]`: Amount of $HOL locked by user *i*.
* `sHOL_mint[i]`: Total amount of sHOL minted for user *i* upon staking.
* `conversion_ratio`: A DAO-governed parameter controlling the base conversion multiplier for locked $HOL.

#### Economic Rationale

This mechanism:

* Rewards long-term commitment without introducing forced complexity.
* Separates economic security (sHOL) from liquidity (HOL).
* Enables flexible capital allocation across protocol modules while preserving principal protection.
* Aligns token emissions with time-weighted participation.
